Injury Prevention

Every day in South Carolina, a child dies as a result of a preventable injury. Unintentional injury is the number one killer of children age 19 and under in the United States. Safe Kids Upstate, a performance team within the Bradshaw Institute for Community Child Health & Advocacy, led by Children’s Hospital of Greenville Health System, works with over 100 community partners to implement programs that address the leading causes of injury and injury related death.

Safe Kids Upstate covers Greenville, Pickens and Oconee Counties and their programming is divided into four categories:
