March of Dimes

March of Dimes® March for Babies®

Can you imagine a day when every baby is born healthy? We can. With your support, Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center (GHS) in partnership with the March of Dimes® will continue to champion the needs of newborns.

Please join GHS in our continued support for the March of Dimes by walking in the 2010 March for Babies®. Many GHS employees have a long-standing commitment to the March of Dimes and have shown great dedication to the cause. Whether you are a long-time supporter or want to make a commitment for the first time, we encourage you to walk with us or make a donation.

2010 March for Babies
Sat., April 24 • CU-ICAR

Why We Walk
When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than 500,000 babies born prematurely each year. The money you raise supports programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies right here in our community. And it funds research to find answers to problems that threaten babies.

Who Walks
March for Babies was started in 1970 and has raised an incredible $1.8 billion. You’ll be joining a million people walking with their families or co-workers in more than 900 communities. We encourage our employees to support the March of Dimes by participating in the April 24 March for Babies event in Greenville.

As the largest birthing hospital in South Carolina with one of the state’s largest neonatal ICU (Bryan NICU), GHS continually strives to improve the health of mothers and babies. GHS supports and shares the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality

GHS’ goal is to raise $75,000. To help reach this mark, we have identified company leaders at all campuses. These leaders are Claudia Jenkins, Debbie Gresham, Rhonda Collins, Pam Gilstrap, David Counts, Libby Brissey, Sheila Walters and Laura Welsh.

If you would like to take part in this event or make a donation, please contact your campus representative or Meg Jewell at 455-8441 or mjewell@ghs.org. Thank you for your support!
