Community Pediatrics will blend clinical expertise in pediatrics with the tenets of public health, population health and advocacy to address the major threats to our children’s health.
Medical-legal partnerships have the potential to help professionals create health equity and support a culture in which everyone has the opportunity to attain his or her full health potential without being disadvantaged by social conditions.
School-based Health Centers
SBHCs provide students access to health care in a location that is safe, convenient and accessible—their schools. Centers are staffed by licensed professionals who can deliver high-quality care that addresses the broad range of concerns affecting students’ healthy development. These services improve the social, emotional and behavioral health of students and reduce the effects of poverty and other adverse experiences on their school success.
Population Health Management Support
Addressing health disparities, promoting access and coordinating care are essential to creating healthy populations. Through partnerships, we will map targeted health issues across the communities we serve to better understand their causes and develop effective, innovative ideas within the community to improve health.
Children’s Hospital Camps
Children with special health concerns need special camps! Medically specialized camps allow campers the freedom to play, laugh, explore and grow in a normal, developmentally appropriate way. Trained counselors and volunteers nurture campers’ self-confidence and provide therapeutic opportunities for individual development.
