Children's Sedation Program

Children who must undergo potentially painful procedures (lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirate and biopsy, bronchoscopy, renal biopsy) and young children who require MRI, radiation treatments, or radio-nucleotide imaging are provided deep sedation by pediatric critical care physicians.  These children do not experience any pain from the procedure and have no memory of the procedure once it has been completed.  They are fully recovered within 15 minutes of the completion of the procedure.
