Children's Hospital After-hours Care

When your child is ill or gets hurts, there’s often a compromise between high-quality care and convenience. Parents frequently choose between keeping their schedules and keeping their families healthy and active. At Children’s Hospital After-hours Care, it’s different.

We’re available when it’s convenient for you. We’re open late and on weekends. Our board-certified physicians deliver the highest quality medical care in a family-friendly environment—treating unexpected illnesses and injuries. And unlike other after-hours care providers, After-hours Care is a gateway to the most comprehensive healthcare provider in the region—Greenville Health System (GHS).

Our goal is to provide the most up-to-date, comprehensive and advanced medical care for our patients while emphasizing personalized, family-centered care. In the face of a changing medical environment, we continue to enhance our methods to better serve your child.

From a Team You Trust

After-hours Care features a team of top physicians focused on superior patient care and dedicated to the highest medical and ethical standards. Patients can rest assured knowing that they will be seen by highly trained Pediatricians certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Guided by clinical protocols and the latest research, our entire team puts the best information to work for patients. As a GHS practice, After-hours Care is backed by the resources of the region's only academic medical center:

  • Electronic medical record—provides a more complete medical record for patients for better care and to reduce duplicative tests and imaging
  • Easy access to GHS specialists
  • Referral to a GHS primary care doctor for follow-up and ongoing care

After-hours Care is generally open the following hours:
Mon. - Thurs.: 6-9 p.m.
Sat. & Sun.: 1-5 p.m.

Please call before visiting, as After-hours Care may occasionally close early depending on patient volume.

After-hours Care provides care, by appointment, for unexpected illnesses and injuries such as …

  • Flu-like symptoms, colds or fever
  • Respiratory infections
  • Intestinal distress (vomiting, nausea, diarrhea)
  • Cuts and simple wounds that may need stitches
  • Infections such as sinus, ear or urinary tract
  • Rashes and minor allergy reactions

On-site Laboratory

After-hours Care has an on-site laboratory. This convenience allows our physicians to make accurate diagnoses and determine the best course of action for your child in a timely fashion.

Support for Community Physicians

At After-hours Care, we believe that high-quality medical care begins with a commitment to teamwork. Just as we work together with patients and their parents to achieve results, we also reach out to the physicians who trust us with their patients when they are unable to see them because of scheduling conflicts or the need for after-hours care.

After-hours Care is dedicated to supporting those referring practices by updating medical records, communicating with all parties about a patient’s condition and recommending follow-up care with a patient’s regular physician. This collaborative approach creates a more efficient process for physicians and their practices. It also ensures the most effective, integrated experience for patients and their families.
